Moving Forward Means Giving Back

Since Rightpoint’s inception, it’s been important to us that we give back to the communities in which we live. We do this several times throughout the year, in various capacities—it could be a Chili Cook-off benefiting the Greater Chicago Food Depository or maybe it’s the men of Rightpoint growing (and shaping!) their mustaches for Movember, raising awareness and funds for men’s health.

However, once a year, we put the weight of Rightpoint behind a Day of Service where, as a collective, we take one work day to help an organization further its cause. It’s an opportunity for us to put some muscle behind an organization that often relies on volunteer hours and donations. So, with the mass that is Rightpoint, we have the ability to make a positive impact in a short period of time.

This year marked our 3rd Annual Day of Service, and we were fortunate enough to support three stellar organizations in each of Rightpoint’s geographies: Heartland Alliance (a Rightpoint client), Imagine!, and Children’s Center at the Head Start Academy.

Chicago

We partnered with our client, Heartland Alliance, a leading anti-poverty organization. Their services support individuals who are homeless or living in poverty, by providing housing, healthcare, economic opportunities and justice support. Specifically, we visited their senior living facility, Hollywood House. There, we beautified their gardens, cleaned their premises, and interacted with their residents over ice cream and bingo.

Denver

We supported the Imagine! organization, whose goal is to help individuals with development and cognitive disabilities. We helped to spruce-up the look of their facilities with some deck staining and other activities.

Detroit

We supported the Children’s Center at the Head Start Academy, helping the organization prep their new family literacy center by painting—bookcases, walls, trim, you name it. The organization provides safe and learning-rich environment for underprivileged children and their families.
