On November 12, we brought together three leading Chicago businesses to explain their strategy for employee engagement and collaboration. During this half day summit, we showcased real-world examples on how these industry leaders are combining collaboration technology from Microsoft with business enablement to create intranets and collaboration strategies that empower employees and drive business value.

Creating Unique Employee Engagement & Collaboration Experiences with Office 365 presented by Jeremy Williams
Jeremy introduced the audience to Office 365’s timeline since its formal introduction in 2010. He explained the impact of Microsoft’s new features and changes to the platform, that may impact how you’re leveraging the platform as part of your employee engagement strategy. During this keynote session, we explored the evolution of Office as we see it and how it best supports a cohesive vision for the modern digital work hub.
Delivering Impactful Employee Engagement Solutions Using Hybrid On-prem/Cloud Architectures presented by Doug Gilman
Doug discussed what it takes to power the leading global provider of risk management and it’s 66,000 employees worldwide. During this session attendees learned how this powerhouse organization tackled a hybrid cloud architecture using Office 365 and SharePoint on-prem to fuel their award winning intranet, Aon Avenue. From strategy to solution, Doug covered the wins, lessons learned, and why a hybrid solution was the answer for Aon.
Beyond Timely Communications: The Making of a Modern Intranet presented by Steven Cohen
Steven explained the evolution of Baxalta becoming a separate entity from their former parent company, Baxter International. Baxalta is a leading biopharmaceutical company, and has 17,000 employees worldwide. They needed a new intranet for Day 1 of the new company, built in the cloud on Office 365. During this session attendees learned about the making of a modern global intranet. Steven shared insights and best practices around user experience, content strategy, branding, multi-lingual, organizational readiness and much more.
Navigating Scope & Budget Constraints with an Intranet Built for a Mid-market Organization presented by Mary Wyderski
Mary discussed intranets and how they often contain a variety of components that can complicate the process and hault efforts. During this session attendees learned how to tackle the many challenges of an intranet build while sticking to a strict timeline and budget. Mary described the many steps to a successful build as well as how to prioritize tasks. Including creative design, governance, media storage, awards and incentives and a variety of others.
