Introducing Rightpoint Michigan - Making it Home

Jesse Murray, SVP, Employee Experience

Bringing this leg of our journey to a close we're coming to the move in date.  All that's left now is to furnish, design, paint, wire and otherwise transform this empty space into our new home.

We have a space, and as you can see to the right it comes complete with sunlight!  Though it's still that tan/brown and of course unfurnished, the next step in our journey is to turn this empty space into a home.

All throughout this process we have had the support of our Rightpoint Chicago team, specifically Ron Scheuman and Vaiva Vaisnys, and now this is where our creative director Tim Stahl joins the party.  We need colors, a layout and we need to bring a little of that Chicago feel to our new space.

I knew I didn't want desks and chairs, partly due to my specific taste and partly because our new space had to be flexible and re-configurable.  So was born the open space idea of no desks.

The idea was interesting but more practical limitations such as computer monitors, papers and books required another idea: tables.

A desk solution which is also a conference table solution, voila!  Throw in our standard made to order computer desk chairs and we have a flexible and yet functional solution.

I'll admit many of my ideas have come from customers whom I have worked in the past and I loved the all whiteboard walls at Quicken.  So I knew going in that I was going to have whiteboard walls of some sort.

We had ideas, we had the space, now all we needed was our plan for how to paint it.  This is where I thankfully was able to turn to Tim for guidance and after many iterations and budgetary discussions we had a final floorplan, complete with orange, green and whiteboard walls. Orange and green are complementary colors, who knew?

With a few end tables, a coffee machine, water service and other minor details we were ready to go, our home was defined.  Oh, and let's not forget the beanbag!  I might add all of this has come together in less than a month and only with the help of Tammi Casey would we have managed to get everything shipped to the right place at the right time.

And so it is, with the assistance of so many in planning and the assembly team of Tom, Scott and myself, we moved into our home, May 1st, 2013.  And just in time I might add, we're growing fast with our newest colleague just coming aboard.  The work is not over, it never will be, but it is my hope to have successfully brought a bit of the Rightpoint culture here to Michigan.

Come on in and meet the Rightpoint Michigan team!  If Rightpoint sounds like the place for you, reach out and let's chat!
