Bringing Innovation to Life.
Innovation is what drives Rightpoint; and because of that, we promote innovation inside the company by what’s known as hack days. This initiative is for the product team specifically and is an incentive for a team hitting their sprint before the deadline. When this happens, the team is rewarded with a hack day where they get the opportunity to learn something new and solve a new problem. Someone on the team, usually an engineer, designer or project manager, will come up with the idea of what they’ll be learning on the hack day and then gives the team the day to work through that problem. The subject of each hack day is determined by asking how they can make the company or the specific project better by exploring new technology or design innovation. Often times, the learnings from the hack day are incorporated into future projects.
We like to share, and therefore innovation is not just contained within our four-walls. To that end, we launched RPLabs – an online community for developers, designers and product experts to offer a peek behind the curtain into how Rightpoint innovates and works. This is a place for the makers at Rightpoint to share their ideas, to celebrate content from developers and designers, share tech talks and discuss ideas. RPLabs is a way for clients to see what Rightpoint is doing, as well as a way for future team members to learn about what people at Rightpoint are creating.
Team Member Recognition.
When someone goes above and beyond for a client or learns something new that brings value to the organization, it’s part of Rightpoint’s culture to acknowledge and reward that contribution. This is done through a variety of channels. At the monthly all hands office meetings, team members who are doing something great are recognized in front of the entire team. Rightpoint also has digital badges where recognition gets posted digitally so co-workers from different offices can see achievements. Client feedback is another valued form of recognition. When a client calls out something positive that team members do, leadership is sure to relay that information to the team members.
