What is your job function? What do you do?
I am a developer/architect in the Customer Experience Practice. My focus is on developing public facing websites using various content management systems.
What is the most unique aspect of your role?
Being able to create something valuable out of nothing but time, a computer, and some brain power is empowering.
How are you "customer obsessed"?
I'm customer obsessed because I love delivering high-quality products to the client. Be it code quality or interface quality, I want to get a WOW from the client when they see my work.
What was the most interesting or unique job that you ever had?
I worked for a transit agency that provided bus service to the community at my last job. Despite being a developer, they required all administrative staff to get their commercial driver’s license so I had to learn how to drive a bus.
What was something interesting about the town or city where you grew up?
I grew up in Huntley which is 50 miles outside of Chicago on i-90. It has a sparsely populated outlet mall and the Midwest's largest retirement community. I have no plans of moving back.
If you could travel anywhere in the world that you have never visited, where would it be and why?
I’d love to visit Norway. Just bring up Norway on Google Images and you'll see what I mean.
What was the last book you read? Would you recommend it?
The last book I read was Domain Driven Design by Eric Evans which I’d probably only recommend to someone who's passionate about software architecture.
If you had to give up electronic devices for one week, what would you miss most?
Depending on what I’m doing instead, I might not miss electronic devices at all, but if I had to pick, I think I'd miss listening to music the most. And maybe Reddit.
