Music Hack 2017 Compassion Crew Update

Culture / Technology / Innovation

“What we know matters but who we are matters more.” – Brene Brown

When I started at Rightpoint, I wanted to become involved with the company. What I didn’t know is that to achieve that, I’d have to become involved with the community. Compassion Crew is Rightpoint’s community outreach group. Since joining Rightpoint, Compassion Crew has provided an outlet for me and fellow Rightpointers to give back to our communities.

Summer in Chicago is synonymous with humidity. To make summertime living in the city easier for Rightpointers, Compassion Crew organized Shorts and Sandals Days where you can rock your most comfortable beach apparel if you made a donation. This summer we raised $2,540 for The People’s Music School. To celebrate breaking our fundraising goal, our office lead Micah Swigert took the piano for us one night after work.

Community outreach has many facets and Compassion Crew believes the humanities, especially music, are instrumental to creating a more vibrant world around us. Because we so strongly believe this, Rightpoint is proud to support The People’s Music School Music Hack. We don’t want to give too much away, but this year, the hack will blur the line between code and music composition. It’ll be a fun event full of code and codas – both D.S. and D.S. al Coda. If you want to be part of the fun, sign up here.

Compassion Crew events always straddle the line between fun and impactful. We believe in the mission of The People’s Music School and look forward to supporting Music Hack 2017 at 1871 Chicago, on Saturday, November 11th.
