Join Our Team // Senior Business Analyst
The Senior Business Analyst is an integral member of the project
team and is responsible and accountable for all business aspects of
the lifecycle of a project. Additionally, the Senior Business
Analyst ensures that the final deliverable of a software
development project meets all of the intended needs of the
business. This person acts as the primary resource for both the
requirements phase and the design, development and delivery phases
of the project.
Responsibilities
- Quickly understand the business issues and data challenges of
client's organization and industry.
- Plan and manage designated tasks associated with all phases of
a software development work: requirements gathering, design,
development and testing.
- Perform requirements gathering and analysis.
- Define and document current and future state business
processes.
- Develop and implement test plans/scenarios to ensure that test
conditions, scripts, validation criteria, and expected results will
successfully test the business and non-functional
requirements.
- Lend support to various business and technology teams as
necessary during design, development and delivery phases to ensure
solid, scalable, robust solutions.
- Communicate effectively in both verbal (i.e. day-to-day
discussions, team meetings, meeting facilitation) and written
(requirements and design specifications) form, as well as have an
overall ability to be clear and concise in all communication.
- Continually seek opportunities to increase customer
satisfaction and deepen client relationships.
- Manage resources in accordance with project schedule.
- Support the development of team members.
- Effectively manage multiple priorities.
- Perform additional job-related duties as requested.
Required Education
- B.A. or B.S. (required); Bachelor of Science in
Business/Computer Science or related field (preferred).
Required Skills and Abilities
- 2+ years of professional work experience in information
technology (required).
- Consulting experience (preferred) and the ability to work
effectively with clients and team members.
- Strong business and systems analysis skills, test planning and
testing skills, troubleshooting skills and experience with numerous
environments and architectures.
- Experience in data gathering and facilitation techniques.
- Experience with requirements management, process design, use
case and modeling tools.
- Strong decision making/problem solving skills and experience
with software development project.
- Experience applying and general knowledge of various analysis
and gathering approaches, methodologies and models.
- Strong analytical and planning skills / experience with
software development projects.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Knowledge of sound business practices and a proven track record
of exceeding customer expectations and anticipating their
needs.
- Self-motivated with a focus on team performance, collaboration,
and professionalism.
- Willingness to travel - Normally work will be Chicago-based but
flexibility is required.
