Join Our Team // Project Manager
Project Management at Rightpoint is a highly client-facing role
that requires not only strong relationship management skills, but
also seasoned experience in executing the full software development
lifecycle engagements in a strong-matrix orientation-where the PM
owns all aspects of project delivery. Many of our projects
focus on CMS portal and collaboration (i.e: intranets, knowledge
management portals, HR & Marketing Communication hubs,
public-facing websites), custom application development (be it web
applications, mobile apps), CRM integrations, or event Business
Intelligence platform solutions.
The Project manager will be responsible for the day-to-day
management and delivery of projects to Rightpoint clients, who span
a diverse range of industries, products and services. Primary
responsibilities include the following:
- Creating and executing project work plans and revising as
appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements
- Identifying resources needed and assigning individual
responsibilities
- Managing the day-to-day operational aspects of a project and
the project scope
- Reviewing deliverables prepared by team before passing to
client
- Effectively applying methodology and enforcing project
standards.
- Prepares for engagement reviews and quality assurance
procedures
- Minimizes Rightpoint's exposure and risk on project
- Ensures project documents are complete, current, and stored
appropriately
Project Accounting
- Tracks and reports team hours and expenses to clients on a
weekly basis
- Manages project budget
- Ensures timely and accurate invoicing, and monitors receivables
for project
- Follows up with clients, when necessary, regarding unpaid
invoices
- Analyzes project profitability, revenue, margins, bill rates
and utilization
- Approves team members' time reports in a conscientious and
timely manner
- Reviews the status reports of team members and addresses issues
as appropriate
Financial Management
- Understands basic revenue models, and cost-to-completion
projections and makes decisions accordingly
- Understands Rightpoint's pricing model and billing
procedures
- Accurately forecasts revenue, profitability, margins, bill
rates and utilization
- Assures project legal documents are completed and signed
Business Development
- Identifies "follow-on" sales opportunities as they relate to a
specific project
- Leads proposal efforts including completing project scoping and
SOW assessments
- Possesses a thorough understanding of Rightpoint's
capabilities
- Effectively conveys Rightpoint's message in both written and
verbal discussions
Communication
- Facilitates team and client meetings effectively
- Holds regular status meetings with project team
- Effectively communicates relevant project information to
superiors
- Delivers engaging, informative, well-organized
presentations
- Resolves and/or escalates issues in a timely fashion
- Understands how to communicate difficult/sensitive information
tactfully
Technical Understanding
- Possesses general understanding in the areas of application
programming, database, system design, Internet, Intranet, Extranet
and client/server architectures
- Maintains awareness of new and emerging technologies and the
potential application on client engagements
Client Management
- Manages day-to-day client interaction and sets and manages
client expectations
- Develops lasting relationships with client personnel that
foster client loyalty
- Communicates effectively with clients to identify needs and
evaluate alternative solutions
- Continually seeks opportunities to increase customer
satisfaction and deepen relationships
- Builds a knowledge base of each client's business, organization
and objectives
Team Development
- Helps team execute career development plans, conducts effective
performance evaluations and mentors those with less experience
through formal channels
- Trains other team member through both formal and informal
training programs
- Encourages more junior members to take responsibility for their
development within Rightpoint
- Challenges fellow team members to progress toward their
professional development goals
Required Education
Bachelor of Science in Business/Computer Science or related
field (preferred).
Minimum Requirements
- 5 or more years of client consulting experience
- 5 or more years of project management experience
- Excellent consulting skills and the ability to work effectively
with clients and team members
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills between both
the customer and all levels within the organization are
required
- Knowledge of sound business practices and a proven track record
of exceeding customer expectations and anticipating their needs are
also required
- Must be motivated with a focus on team performance
- Willingness to travel
Preferred Requirements
- A MS in Computer Science, Information Systems or related
experience
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
- MOSS or MCSD certifications
- Relevant hands-on development experience in the following:
- MOSS 2007/MSS 2010
- Visual Studio
- SharePoint Designer
- SharePoint Object Model
- SharePoint Business Connectivity Services
- Microsoft .NET technologies, Java, C # XML, IIS, SQL
